Nei til atomvåpen (NTA) - No to Nuclear Weapons

NTA is the Norwegian grass root campaign for nuclear disarmament.

NTA was founded in 1979, based on a strong and spontaneous resistance in the public against being pieces in the nuclear weapon game of the Great Powers. NTA works for nuclear disarmament and for a ban on nuclear weapons. NTA is also an opponent of the civilian use of nuclear power.

NTA is a nationwide and party-political independent organisation. We initiate information campaigns, which addresses the Norwegian population, politicians, labour unions and other organisations. This is often done in cooperation with the Norwegian branches of the International Physicians for the Prevention of Nuclear War, Pugwash and other organisations. We work to influence the Norwegian government to support initiatives for nuclear disarmament and for a ban on nuclear weapons in the UN and in other international organisations (e.g. NATO).
